Industrial Heritages: A Mirror of Modernization Influence in the Golden Horn, Istanbul

Preservation on heritages is always a topic for ancient countries. However, “industrial heritages”, whose built years are not far from today, spring up recently. This category of heritages shows a clear process of modernization influence transformation, but has problem in the current step to integrate into public daily life.

In this project, I will elaborate this transformation by reviewing the historic background of industrialization in the Golden Horn, Istanbul. Then by digitally presenting current conditions of industrial heritages, I will explain the problem and give some critical thoughts about it.
